Placebo Side-Project a Bitter Pill

with one comment

Hotel Persona is the side project of Placebo bassist Stefan Olsdal, and they have just released their debut album In The Clouds.

Despite remixes from established artists like Queens of the Stone Age, Placebo and She Wants Revenge, some songs sound like Depeche Mode or the Sneaker Pimps if they decided to represent one of the Balkan countries in Eurovision (if the tracks featured on their myspace page are anything to go by). Others are dreamy electro lullabyes.
Then there is the peculiar reworking of Samantha Fox’s 1986 hit ‘Touch Me,’ featuring Ms Fox on vocals. Other guest vocalists include Brian Molko (Placebo), latin artist Miguel Bose and Alaska (from Spanish electro pop outfit Fangoria).

Hopefully Placebo starts working on another new album…
